Feature Friday: Ladybird Likes

A fellow Brit, I stumbled across this shop a month or two ago while browsing Etsy. I love the name, Ladybird Likes and I just adore her necklaces. I own too few wooden necklaces, especially ones as pretty as these.

Specialising in making necklaces, brooches and tiny bunting from "bits of wood, repurposed vintage fabrics, pretty paper, and lots of love", Zoe has a great talent. The vintage illustrations are gorgeous and there is so much choice, you would have a hard time choosing a favourite. I gave it a go though, take a look:

I love the shade of blue on this butterfly!

We all know I'm a sucker for polka dots. Enough said.

A cute vintage lady!

I also had a gander at her blog (full of pretty pictures) and found she even does custom pieces now! Isn't this one she made for Sugar For my Honey beautiful?

A perfect shop for spring. Ladybird Likes even has a MASSIVE sale on now so you have no excuse.

New vintage finds

So I finally got out and got a few more bits and pieces of stock for Toast Rack. Need some stock for the three fairs in a row I have coming up. Though it was a wet and rainy day on Sunday, I'm happy to say that I came home with my hands full!

Which one do you want to see put on the shop first?

I also got a couple of bead necklaces. Just need to wait for a bright day (fingers crossed this weekend) to get some photos and I'll be able to put them all up on the shop. I may even be able to do a photo shoot one evening after work since it's getting lighter. I love summer.

Have you had any great vintage finds recently?

Treasury Tuesday: Grey Day

In honour of all the rain in the UK I decided to name my treasury after it. Take a look:

Fingers crossed the sun comes back soon.

Feature Friday – Love Lee Soaps

If you’re anything like me, then you love the little everyday things that put a smile on your face. Something functional like soap shouldn’t be fun should it? Love Lee Soaps seems to think so. Fun is the main word to describe Leeana’s shop. I love it!

Leeana is a girl after my own heart – anyone who makes things that are traditionally simple into something unique are amazing in my mind. Anything random you can think of, she’s got a soap shaped like it. Robots, cupcakes, rubber duckies, mushrooms, owls, trains, bowls of macaroni & cheese (oh yes!), the list goes on.

I think soap is a great gift and these are all so reasonably priced they would be perfect. Loads of the soaps are just $5 & $6. Amazing value. Even treat yourself, why not? They’re probably about the same as your morning coffee from the shop. Yes, that cheap!

My personal favourites are the buttons, unicorns and my ultimate – the gnome. So random I love it. This may have to be on my list to treat myself with. Take a look around her shop; Love Lee Soaps (geddit? :P), it’s a great mood uplifter. And everyone needs soap shaped like a unicorn.

New Creations

Now these still need to be photographed before I put them on Random Quirks, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek.

New Rings! I am especially loving the pancake one. This may have also been a chance to show off my cloud nails, ha ha.

A few necklaces. My Toy Story Alien necklace sold at Vintage Village so I thought I'd try my luck with a Buzz one. To infinity and beyond!

Something a bit different to any stud earrings I've made before. Fried eggs on toast, waffle hearts and fried eggs on their own.

Going to make some more bits and pieces tonight I think.

Treasury Tuesday: Green room

I made another treasury!

Green as the grass.

I love treasury's - it gives me a great excuse to window shop! :) I promise my next post will be something different, ha ha.

Treasury Tuesday - Pink Lemonade

I made a treasury for the first time in awhile. I forgot how much I enjoy making them! My theme was pink and yellow, or Pink Lemonade as I called it. These two colours really remind me of spring and Easter.

Hope you like. Click on it to take a closer look:

Happy colours I think. Reminds me of sunshine.

What colours remind you of spring?

Vintage Village Stockport fair

I hope everyone had a great Easter. I spent my Easter Sunday at the Vintage Village fair in Stockport. Getting my stuff together in the morning, I set off with my expectations set low as it being a holiday people may not turn up due to limited public transport.

I had my happy helpers Claire and the bf help me set up and in the first hour made 2 sales which is a massive improvement on my previous visits to this fair. The day continued steadily with a good stream of customers so I was making at least a sale an hour. This made me happy. I usually struggle to make back my stall fee, but this time I had plenty left over. :) Toast Rack did very well with it being a vintage fair and all, but Random Quirks did better than usual as well. Even came home to a sale on Etsy.

There were loads of people around so there was a really great atmosphere. It was also really great to have the company since I usually go to these things alone. The help was great and the entertainment even better! Check out the photos on the Facebook pages for Random Quirks and Toast Rack. Roll on next month - I'll be going back!

How was your Easter weekend?
